Migraines
A migraine is a neurological condition that is almost like a headache but the pain causes debilating pain and very intense symptoms. A migraine can happen on one or both sides of the head.  The migraine differs from a headache by the severity of the pain. Aside from head injuries, stroke, tumors and reoccurring pain, the amount and intensity of the pain is the result of a vascular headache rather than a tension headache.  A migraine comes along with photophobia, which is hypersensivity to the light, and phonophobia, which is hypersensitivity to sound and even nausea.

The Migraine is a chronic aliment that has become more and more common.  Some people go to the doctor when they have a severe headache and some just diagnose themselves and take an over the counter migraine medication. But if you have been medically diagnosed,  the treatments are rather expensive, some people suffer from these miagraines so much that they debilitate a person to the extent that it affects their job and some people can’t hold jobs because of the constant pain.

Migraines are common in pregnant women because of the hormones, but because of the circumstances involved they cannot take any pain medication they normally would. If you are pregnant and suffer from a migraine then consult your doctor right away. You don’t want to suffer from a migraine any longer than you have to.

One treatment that is recommended for a migraine is to apply warm or hot cloths to your head. You can also use cold water; it has been proven that hot or cold water has been proven to reduce pain. Some people may seek to use over the counter medications such as Excedrin and Bayer. Tylenol will work on the beginning of a migraine but once you have a full migraine Tylenol isn’t strong enough.
