Neuropathy
Neuropathy is any type of disease that can affect the nervous system. The longer more technical tern is called Peripheral Neuropathy which is the disease of the peripheral nervous system. There are four different types of nerve damage; they are the polyneuropathy, autonomic neuropathy, mononeuropathy and mononeuritis multiplex. The most common is the disease of peripheral polyneuropathy, this order affects the feet and the legs. Certain types have different causes each one is not the same.

Some of the causes may be from other diseases as Diabetic Neuropathy, the most common causes are from such things as herpes zoster infection, HIV-AIDS, certain toxins, alcoholism can play a big part, a chronic trauma such as a repetitive motion disorder. Neuropathic pain is most common in patients with cancer; the side effects of the chemotherapy drugs that are given usually cause the pain.

Some of the symptoms of Neuropathic pain are numbness and burning pain. These are called abnormal sensations or dysesthesias and allodynias. These sensations can be out of the blue or a reaction to certain stimuli. These types of pains are different from the type of pain that you would get if you banged your toe or injured your finger with a hammer. Neuropathic pain is sometimes described as a pins and needles type of pain or an electric shock sensation. When you experience normal pain, the nerves are only affected but when you experience neuropathic pain, you hit the pain and the non-pain nerves that are located in the same area. This sends signals to the spinal cord and brain that they normally wouldn’t get.
